but for some reason, I can only post a new topic in this catergory.

First, hi again to everybody, hope you all had a wonderful holiday.

I am coveting a magenta Bleecker duffle, one of the big ones, that is never available online, and you can forget about the stores in my area.

I came across this one on ebay, but it has no actual pictures, and the seller's name, b-tribe, sounds vaguely familiar.

Just wondering if one of the experts could shed some insight on either the bag or seller, or both.

Thanks so much, here's the link:

This seller has not been discussed on this forum according to the search I just did. She has a good reputation but never never never buy a bag with only a stock photo. Email the seller and ask her to post photos of the real bag both inside and out and a clear photo of the creed. Tell you are very interested but would never buy from a stock photo. Then post the photos here and we can give you an opinion. Also ask why she is using a stock photo.

She has some negative feedback regarding difficult to deal with and bad return policy.

Seller uses stock photos on everything. It is possible she is selling mirror image replicas and the public doesn't know the difference.

This is a current bag selling at www.coach.com for $448. She started the auction at $199.99. Chances are the most she could have saved is 20-25% with a Coach coupon. These bags are not yet discounted at major department stores and except the employee once a year 20% coupon most others do not apply to Coach products. I personally would not buy from this seller. We technically could report all of the bags using stock photos to Ebay because what you see is not necessarily what you get.

Also, always beware when any part of the auction is kept private. She has something to hide.

What the splooce?? 13scratchhead.gif I didn't realize you had edited your post. And your logic is undeniable. I just really wanted it to be real. How in the world do you get a Coach coupon?? 12bigeye.gif That would be a great consolation prize.

If you buy several items from www.coach.com they will send you a coupon a few times a year. Usually 20% off. Same is true from regular coach stores. If you buy several items from a major department store you can sometimes ask them to get you a coupon. I have heard this but have not tried it, but I buy a lot of my coach from Macy's and I am sure going to ask. I do get coupons from Macys and they do not apply to Coach or Dooney except the employee friends and family coupons. They always let me use those.

You do not get discount coupons from Coach factory stores or I would be rolling in them. Hope that helps.

Hmmmmm... thanks so much.

And the more I've been thinking about that posting, and the private biddder thing, it smells worse and worse to me. Can it be reported on circumstancial evidence alone?? 65cop.gif

You can report something for stock photos because you do not know if the person is drop shipping, selling a fake with a real photo, etc. Sometimes people will use a stock photo to get something listed, then take their own photos later and edit the listing. Some do not bother. Some are lousy photographers. Personally I think Ebay should make a rule that you can not use a stock photo alone, and then pull everyone that does. A lot of honest sellers use them but probably more counterfeit sellers use them than honest. I usually do not report them if they seem to sell authentic. However if they mix real and fake and use stock photos I will report them. Sometimes they just steal another sellers photos. I don't know which is worse.
