I saw a few with leather hangtags on Ebay so I was just curious. I appreciate all comments, thank you.

The stitching on this looks beautiful and if it is a fake, it is the best one I have seen. It is possible that the tag on that bag has been replaced with the metal one since the bag wasn't made iwithin the past couple of years. I know they are newer and at least been around since 2006 but I am not sure when they started using them.

I got it pretty cheap: $75. The only thing wrong with it is the clip on the tassel is jammed and won't come off. At least I know it won't fall off though!

Yes...the numbers on the creed are a style number and not a true serial number.

It's not a dumb question at all. I'm sure one of the experienced Coach ladies will hop in eventually. I believe the first four characters before the dash might change depending on the year the bag was produced. The second set of characters after the dash is the actual style number and remains consistent. I might be wrong and am hoping someone will hop in set the record straight if I'm incorrect.

Wendy was correct in her response that the first 4 digits/numbers can change but the last 4 are the same. Sounds like you got a pretty good deal on the bag. Enjoy it !!!!

j3n, call the repairs line on the Coach website, give them the tag number and they will send you the matching hangtag for free

The leather tassle clip won't come off, it's "stuck." Do you think they'd send me one of those? Does it matter that I don't have a "proof of purchase" because I got it off of Ebay?

It isn't the tassel you want to replace. It's the hangtag that's on the chain. It should be a leather hangtag rather than the metal one you have.

When you call Coach, don't tell them you bought the bag off ebay. Tell them you received it as a gift or that you lost the hangtag. (They frown on ebay!!)

sorry, I didn't even check the d.d. I just assumed from one of the replies in a post that it had the wrong hangtag.

What is it that need replacing? I misunderstood something. Maybe I should go back and re-read.

Edited to add: This is where I got the idea that it had the wrong hangtag. Phew, I thought I was losing it!

By the way, you take great pictures!

The clip on the leather tassel is stuck so it won't come off. It's really not a problem though because I don't plan on removing it.
