Ana
Hi I'm new, been lurking for a couple weeks. I love Coach - I have some Dooney but mostly Coach. I LOVE Coach - did I say that already? I'm thinking Coach isn't really an addiction because there does not seem to be a 12 step group for recovery ha ha. I have been looking at the fakes in the auctions you guys post and man some of them I can't tell the difference - makes me not want to buy from eBay anymore!! Its just so stupid, if you can't afford a real Coach just deal with it don't buy on the street and support counterfeiters. I think it also brings down the brand - I can't think of a better way to word it but maybe you know what I mean. Back when I was in high school you used to be all hot if you had a Benneton bag, you had to go to the city to get it ect - then they lowered their prices and opened a lot more stores and bang everyone had them. I just hate seeing some high school kid with a fake Coach when I know I worked a ton of overtime to buy the real thing and that half the people admiring the bags don't know the difference. Ok - off my rant now LOL. I really am a nice person. I'll tell my personal fake Coach story. A few years ago I was looking around on eBay and someone had "authentic Coach backpacks". Except they had G's on them, not C's. They were the cheap knockoffs that you could get at Fashion Bug. So I emailed and said, hi is it authentic, where did you get it. And the person said "oh I work at Coach so I get to take home the ones that don't sell at the end of the season". Yeeahhhh...... right. You know that brings me to a question - I was at TJ Maxx this past weekend and this brand - I think its called XOXO had wallets that looks almost like the Dooney IT pattern with the hearts, it was hearts. How do supposedly legit companies do that? Is it just enough different not to be copyright infringement? Just wondering. Ok so thats my rambling intro, hope to chat soon. Ana 53punk.gif

It sounds as though we can learn a few things from YOU! 46thumbsup.gif

We can use all the help we can get to get these crooks off the net. It seems as though for each one we get suspended 15 more pop up. I think it means just as much to protect the buyers as it does to catch the crooks.

We'll watch for your input and questions.

The XOXO brand is an affordable alternative for buyers who like the look of different designer styles but can't afford or don't want to pay the prices. XOXO items are legitimate designer inspired items. They don't have designer logos or paperwork and are not styled to looked exactly like the brands they are fashioned after.

Incidently, since you mentioned that you saw these items at TJ Maxx, you may also want to check for Coach, Dooney, Michael Kors, etc. The off-price discounters like Marshall's and TJ Maxx get authentic designer items for reasonable prices because they often get the discontinued styles and colors or items that are only available in limited quantities. The prices are 1/2 retail and you can get the real deal there.

Welcome to KKO, Ana!

I did get one of my Dooney's at TJ's a couple years ago, its a really nice black microfiber-y kind of fabric with leather strap and trim and its really big - I forget the name of the style (not Cabriolet). So I saw it there and it had no price, so being a smart shopper I grabbed the closest looking thing and went up to the counter and asked the price - and they sold it to me for $40, same price as the other bag! I went back a few weeks later and they had the same bags but 1/2 the size selling for over $100.

If you tried to report a fake and it came back invalid that means eBay already pulled the fake auction! Thats a good thing! 28upanddance.gif

Hey Wendy I tried to post a new topic and search for this seller but for some reason it wont let me. I am logged in also.. I wrote the seller but she wont write back. She had another bag and I am pretty sure it was a fake also but has sold and you cant view it anymore. I am not 100% sure but you all take a look. 160115626499 The seller is 1973christinachocolate Sorry I dont know how post a link.

Yes, its fake. See the real one:

I'm not sure what areas you can get into as a new member. A moderator will tell you.
Also, be careful if write to a seller or a potential buyer. If they report you its considered 'interfering with a transaction' and it can get you into trouble with eBay.

Oh Thank you so much. But I still dont know how to post a link. And where should I so you all see it quickly and report it. I tried with this one to report it and it said invalid item number again. But I dont think it was pulled off. I dont know how all this works yet. I guess I need to read more.

Posting the auction number is fine. Sometimes when an item comes up "invalid" it is possible that eBay agreed the item is counterfeit or questionable and shutdown the auction. You will get the hang of it soon.

Just remember never to report anything until there is consensus that the item is actually counterfeit since the goal is shutdown counterfeit sellers and not honest and ethical ones.
